# Business services and consulting

## Many handoffs, plenty of context, clear accountability

In business services and consulting, work lives in conversations, documents and agreements passed from person to person. That is exactly where requests and follow-up get stuck, and where a workflow with human approval makes the difference.

## What defines this sector

An advisory firm, consultancy or legal practice sells time and judgment. The work is rarely standardised, but the surrounding **handoffs** are: a request becomes a conversation, a conversation becomes a proposal, a proposal becomes an assignment. Every handoff is a place where information disappears or waits.

There is also **accountability**. A customer wants to know what was agreed and why. A workflow that proposes and logs fits better than one that quietly executes.

## Suitable processes

### Register and follow up requests

A request from a form or email becomes a lead in the CRM, with context and a proposed next step. See [sales follow-up](<https://gen8.app/en/mogelijkheden/salesopvolging/>).

### Meeting to follow-up

Transcript, summary and proposed actions with an owner and date. See [meeting to action items](<https://gen8.app/en/mogelijkheden/meeting-naar-actiepunten/>).

### Inbox triage with approval

Classify and route incoming email and propose a draft. See [inbox triage](<https://gen8.app/en/mogelijkheden/inbox-triage/>).

### Quote from intake

An intake form and conversation become a draft quote with source references; a person retains responsibility for the commitment. See [quote from intake](<https://gen8.app/en/mogelijkheden/offerte-uit-intake/>).

### Query an internal knowledge base

Answers with sources, permissions and freshness, or an explicit “I don't know”. See [query a knowledge base](<https://gen8.app/en/mogelijkheden/kennisbank-bevragen/>).

### Onboard a new customer

From a signed quote to a configured environment, with fixed checkpoints. See [new customer onboarding](<https://gen8.app/en/mogelijkheden/onboarding-nieuwe-klant/>).

## Where the limits lie

Judgment stays with the professional. A workflow prepares and proposes; advice or a legal conclusion does not come from a model. Confidentiality is a design requirement: a workflow only sees what the user may see, and customer data is not copied to make a workflow reusable.

## Frequently asked questions

Our processes are not standardised. Will this still work?

The work does not have to be standard; the handoffs usually are. That is where a workflow starts: with the request, the report, the action and the follow-up.

Who is responsible if the workflow makes a wrong proposal?

The person who approves it. That is why approval is visibly built in and every proposal is logged with a source reference. We manage the workflow and adjust it when something goes wrong.

## Does this sound like your organisation?

Bring one process. We assess suitability, risk and expected value, and tell you if it is not a good fit.
