Tasks arising from work
An approved proposal becomes a task on the right board, with a title, description, owner and deadline.

Integration · route: configured
For many teams ClickUp is where work becomes visible — provided someone enters it. Gen8 has its own ClickUp integration so a workflow can read tasks and make proposals arising from emails, meetings or signals. The board remains the team's: writing starts as a proposal.
At a glance
Route: configured
Components: ClickUp (workspaces, spaces, tasks, docs, checklists, custom fields, time tracking)
Capabilities
Structure. Read workspaces and spaces so a workflow knows where a task belongs rather than guessing.
Tasks. Search and read tasks and propose or update a task: title, description, status, owner and deadline.
Checklists. Read and add items within a task — useful for recurring work with fixed steps.
Custom fields. Read and populate fields you configured, which often hold the information the process truly depends on.
Docs. Read and update ClickUp documents.
Time tracking and history. Read logged time and task change history — the basis for a progress picture beyond a status column.
Inspiration
A few examples of work you can hand over through this integration. We work out what fits your organisation together during scoping.
An approved proposal becomes a task on the right board, with a title, description, owner and deadline.
Work with fixed steps receives the right checklist items without retyping.
The fields your process depends on are filled from incoming work.
If the work indicates a task is complete, the workflow proposes the new status. A colleague approves.
Logged time and task history become an overview of where work really stands.
A ClickUp document with agreements or procedures is updated when something changes, first as a proposal.
Permissions and data
An administrator connects and designates workspaces, spaces or lists. A project board often contains more than one team and customer, so scope is a real choice, not a formality.
The workflow receives only necessary permissions. A progress overview needs reading; task creation needs more. Credentials are stored encrypted and do not appear in workflow text. Gen8 processes in the EU; ClickUp processes data in its own environment under your supplier agreements.
Control
Reading happens without intervention. Writing starts as a proposal, and that is substantive: a project board is shared work, and a task appearing or changing status from nowhere costs the team more trust than it saves time.
Creating a new task from an approved proposal is therefore the starting point. Updating other people's existing tasks — status, owner, deadline — retains approval even when proposals are good. Small, reversible additions such as checklist items or custom fields can run automatically with logging after a settling-in period.
Evidence
ClickUp has its own Gen8 integration with separate tools for workspaces, spaces, tasks, checklists, custom fields, documents, time tracking and history. The route is configured because an administrator first defines spaces and permitted fields. Jira has no such own integration. Workflow uses: meeting actions into ClickUp and monitoring project progress.
Propose a task on the right board
Only after approval. That stays true even when proposals prove good, because it affects other people's work.
Not with its own integration. Jira uses an MCP server or custom development; see the Jira page.
It can read logged time for a progress picture. We do not configure it to book hours itself — that accountability belongs to a person.
From the structure it reads and the rules you define. If no location clearly fits, it asks instead of guessing.
